BS Political Science

About Program

The BS Political Science is a four-year degree program structured across eight semesters. It provides students with a broad and structured understanding of political systems, institutions, ideologies, comparative politics, political philosophy, foreign policy, human rights, globalization, conflict resolution, and international security.

The program combines theoretical study with practical learning through case studies, simulations, discussions, and analysis of contemporary political events. Students progressively develop the ability to examine national, regional, and global political challenges while strengthening their research, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Graduates are prepared for opportunities in public policy, government, diplomacy, international development, media, research, academia, and related fields. The program also provides a strong academic foundation for advanced study in Political Science and other interdisciplinary areas.

Objectives

  1. Build a strong academic foundation in Political Science through a clear understanding of major theories, concepts, institutions, and changing political dynamics.
  2. Develop analytical and practical skills that enable students to apply political science frameworks to real-world issues related to governance, peace, security, diplomacy, and development.
  3. Strengthen professional communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities so graduates can contribute effectively to policy, public service, research, and international cooperation.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Qualification: Applicants must have completed Intermediate, A-Level, or an equivalent qualification with at least 45% marks.
  • Academic Record: Applicants must not have a Third Division in Matriculation.
  • Entry Test: A minimum score of 50% in the NTS test or AIU Entry Test is required for admission.
